Through the eyes of myself

I watch this unfold

And each day splits

To form another morning

The warm glow of unknowing

That once raged an open fire

Now embers low

Like the logs at 3am

on Christmas morning

And force it down

To be alive here

To be a piece of this

I was better at love when I was helpless

These days I just watch

Through the eyes of myself

And force it down
